Acting 1 - Ages 9-12
Tuesdays | 4:30-5:30 | Actor's Studio

This class will focus on the fundamentals of acting. Students will learn stage terminology and basic acting principles such as stage directions, blocking and memorization techniques. Class will focus on exploration of the voice and body to help the student better understand his/her acting instrument. Basic scene work will be incorporated to encourage teamwork and give students a chance to put their new skills into practice. Most students will spend a minimum of 2-3 semesters at this level and advance upon teacher approval. ***This class is also offered as a part of Performance Package Level 1. ***
Acting 1 - Ages 12-18

Acting 4 - Ages 13-20

*Fall & Spring Semester Prerequisite: Passed Acting 3 and/or School Director approval. No mid-year enrollment. A yearlong class for the advanced acting student who is committed to the work of vulnerability and the study of character complexity. Students will engage these disciplines through a combination of readings, in-class exercises, exploration of human behavior, story engagement, script analysis, and performance. Shakespeare is also introduced at this level with reading, scansion, history, and script analysis first semester and performance included second semester. Most students will spend a minimum of 2-4 semesters at this level and advance upon teacher approval. ***This class is also offered as a part of Performance Package Level 3. ***

Prerequisite: Passed Acting 1 and/or School Director approval. As the actor grows and develops his/her skill, they will be introduced to new techniques and a more advanced set of acting tools. The student will learn a wide variety of warm-ups, begin basic character analysis, and begin to explore objectives and obstacles in a given scene. Theatre exercises and exploration will be used to stimulate and challenge the growing actor. Most students will remain in Acting 2 for a minimum of 2-3 semesters and advance upon teacher approval. ***This class is also offered as a part of Performance Package Level 2. ***

Homeschool Acting 1 - Ages 7-18

Musical Theatre Performance 2

This class will use selected songs from a variety of musicals with a focus on vocal performance, characterization, and minimal choreography. The class will emphasize how to tell a story through song and movement. The students will learn about vocal dynamics, an intro to reading music, and overall musical theatre performance. Students will also have the chance to audition for solos. This class will be a fun and exciting challenge for those students who are interested in learning more about the musical theatre stage!

Homeschool Acting 2 - Ages 7-18

Prerequisite: Passed Acting 1 and/or School Director approval. As the actor grows and develops his/her skill, they will be introduced to new techniques and a more advanced set of acting tools. Shakespeare
Wednesdays| 6:30-8:00 | Actor's Studio
Prerequisite: Students must be currently placed at Acting 2 level or above OR School Director approved. To be in the class or not to be in the class? That is the question! In Shakespeare 101 we will learn to interpret, analyze, and perform the works of William Shakespeare. We will be critical thinkers and close readers of Shakespeare’s tragedies, comedies, histories, romances, problem plays and sonnets. Do not be intimidated by the word ‘SHAKESPEARE.’ This is an entry level class designed to introduce students to the text and to help make the works of Shakespeare more accessible for actors of all levels.

Audition Fundamentals - Ages 9-18
Wednesdays| 7:30-8:30 | Ballroom
This is an introductory audition class, but a very important class for all theatre students who want to do well at auditions. Students will develop two monologues of contrasting styles, and two musical solos that could be used for local or regional theatrical auditions. This class will also provide students with guidance in resumes, headshots, and suggestions for attire. Students will learn how to handle themselves at any audition, whether dancing, singing or acting!

Intro to Acting - AGES 4-5

Intro to Acting is a class for the young student who is ready to use their imagination to tell big stories through acting, pantomime, and physical theatre. This class will introduce the young student to basic acting concepts. They will learn terms such as blocking, cheating out, and stage directions. Students will have fun creating over the top stories and learning how to bring them to life on stage!
Acting 3 - Ages 12-18
Thursdays | 6:00-8:00 | Actor's Studio

*Fall & Spring Semester Prerequisite: Passed Acting 2 and/or School Director approval No mid-year enrollment without School Director approval. A yearlong class designed to introduce students to the discipline and art of acting. Students will engage discipline through a combination of readings, in-class exercises, physical and vocal expression, in-depth character study, intense scene/script analysis, and performance. Most students will spend a minimum of 2-4 semesters at this level and advance upon teacher approval. ***This class is also offered as a part of Performance Package Level 3. ***
Musical Theatre Choreography
Thursdays | 8:00-9:00| Actor's Studio

Musical Theatre Choreography is an open level class for students looking to enhance their overall performance quality. This class will include a warm up and series across the floor utilizing technique to refine body awareness, stylization, and strong stage presence. The rest of the class will focus on learning and rehearsing choreography to be performed at the end of the semester.
Intro to Acting - Ages 6-7

Improv 101 - Ages 9-13
Thursdays | 6:30-7:30 | Ballroom

This class is based on the improvisation toolbox and how one can learn to be successful at improv! We will focus on 8-10 "games" throughout the course of the semester and incorporate theatre exercises to enhance the goals of each game. Mastery of these games will be emphasized. We want the student to learn that the “funny” comes with preparedness, discipline, generosity, a sharp intellect and a vivid imagination. Improvisation is an important skill for all actors and one all performers should be trained in. This class will focus on the rules of Improv in order to create a safe, disciplined, and fun environment for everyone participating.
Acting 2+ - Ages 10-18
Thursdays | 4:30-6:00 | Actor's Studio

*Fall & Spring Semester Prerequisite: Passed Acting 2 and/or School Director approval. No mid-year enrollment without School Director approval. This class is designed for the young, dedicated actor. As the actor grows and develops his/her skill, they will be introduced to new techniques and a more advanced set of acting tools. The student will learn a wide variety of warm-ups, continue basic character analysis, and continue to explore objectives and obstacles in scene and monologue work. Theatre exercises and exploration will be used to stimulate and challenge the growing actor. The extended time will allow students to engage in more in depth character work and scene study. ***This class is also offered as a part of Performance Package Level 2. ***
Improv 201 - Ages 11-18
Thursdays | 7:30-9:00 | Ballroom

Prerequisite: Passed Improv 101 and/or School Director approval Improv 201 will build on the skills taught in level 1. This class is for the committed student who has the discipline to make smart and creative choices, to show care for their classmates by working as a team, and to follow the “rules” of improv in order to perform funny and creative scenes. Improv 2 will focus on listening well and following the lead of those on stage with you.
