THE FUTURE

Established in 1996, The Culture House has been fortunate to grow with Kansas City into one of the thriving arts cities in the country.  Who can forget the opening of the world-famous Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and how it has changed our city, changed our lives?  And now, year after year, Kansas City has more young people cultivating their creative and performing gifts, an ever-growing audience interested in a broader spectrum of the arts, and more people engaging in community, relationships and ideas.

And so, I am excited to announce our vision to add to this beautiful city, a new performing and fine arts education and performance center.  God has given all of us the gift of the arts.  They are a gift that brings people together to be inspired by great ideas, excellence and creativity.  We want to encourage the next generation of young artists, build up our community and share the stories and melodies that encourage a healthy, vibrant community.

The Culture House Conservatory will expand to a 30,000+ square foot facility with more training studios for dance, theater, music and visual art.  The Conservatory will not only serve our children and youth programs, providing the disciplined and nurturing training our faculty have become known for, but during the day, it will house our college program students.  If all goes well and the city approves, we hope to open the new conservatory first as early as the first or second quarter of 2028!  Current students will be able to enroll prior to opening it to the broader community.

We are grateful for the visionary leadership of Oak Park Mall and its parent company, CBL Properties, for designing such an exciting reimagining of the mall.  With the addition of The Culture House Conservatory and Cultural Center, Oak Park Mall will be adding an inspiring tourist attraction that flows with the extraordinary growth of Kansas City’s reputation as an arts hub.  The Culture House has been fortunate over the past 30 years to benefit from the vision and leadership of the philanthropic, civic and artistic community in Kansas City who have led the way in enhancing the beauty and warmth of this growing metropolis.

We look forward to revealing all the great ideas and opportunities that this new facility will bring to our community.  Stay tuned for more announcements!
