QUESTIONS

1 / How can I enroll in classes?

Visit the Classes Section HERE, select the classes you'd like to take and complete the enrollment form. Questions along the way? Don't hesitate to contact us info@culturehouse.com.  

2 / Who can enroll?

In a word, anyone! We offer classes for ages three - adult in dance, and ages 4 - 18 in theatre, with special classes for adults too. All girls, boys and adults are welcome.

4 / How do I pay my bill?

You will receive an emailed statement reminder on the 20th of each month. The Culture House enforces automatic tuition charge via bank account or credit card.  Tuition charges are run on the 1st of each month. The Culture House accepts cash, check and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express). Pay online or mail payment to The Culture House, 14808 West 117th, Olathe KS 66062.

6 / What is The Culture House's refund policy?

No refunds will be granted after 30 days of the beginning of class.  There will be no refunds for classes missed due to illness or injuries. Payments may not be reduced in order to accommodate family vacations. Tuition, anniversary fees, production fees, costume fees and performance tickets are non-refundable. 7 / What is The Culture House's Summer Program refund policy?

Drops must be received in writing. Any changes or cancellations will be assessed a $15 fee.  Refunds are available only if a drop is received at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of the enrolled summer program. There are no refunds due to illness or injuries.

8 / What is The Culture House's class change policy?

A $25 class change fee will be assessed for all changes in the class schedule. Class changes must be approved by TCH staff, and are at the discretion of instructors, subject to availability.

9 / What if I have to miss a class?

Notify the front desk if you will be missing classes for an extended period due to illness or vacation. Tuition refunds will not be made in the case of absences due to illness or vacation.

10 / Does The Culture House offer makeup lessons?

Any class canceled due to a teacher absence will be made up at a time arranged with that teacher. There are no prorated fees for missed classes or holidays, and refunds will not be given for classes missed due to illness or injury. Payments are not reduced to accommodate family vacations. Studio closure days, due to weather or power outages, will not be made up. Classes are non transferable.

If a student is going to miss a class, please notify the front desk. When possible, we encourage students to attend a comparable make-up class. (There are some classes where this is not possible.) Makeup lessons must be completed within one month during the current school session. Please email registrations@culturehouse.com, call 913-393-3141, or stop at the front desk to notify staff regarding missed classes, to schedule a make-up class (if possible), and/or to ask questions regarding make-up class options.

11 / What if I withdraw from a class?

PARENTS MUST NOTIFY THE SCHOOL TO DROP A STUDENT FROM CLASS.
Within the first 30 days, a student may drop (in writing) without being billed further tuition. After the first 30 days of class, The Culture House requires written notice at least 4 weeks prior to discontinuing classes. The student/family will be responsible for four weeks of tuition from the date we receive notification. Only a written notice via the formal notification form, email, regular postal mail, or hand delivered to our front desk will be acceptable.
For THEATRE classes, after 60 days of class, withdrawals will not be permitted. If  a student discontinues coming to class, tuition for the duration of the semester is still required.

12 / What is The Culture House's school closing policy?

School closing due to weather will be posted on our website. We regularly observe the following holidays:

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas/Winter break

  • Spring break

  • Easter break

  • Memorial Day

  • July 4th, Independence Day

If your family celebrates religious holidays not included above, please contact the front office to arrange for an excused absence.

13 / How can I stay informed about The Culture House?

Be sure to join The Jump and make sure that the parent portal has your current email address, physical address, and phone number. Look for emails from registrations@culturehouse.com as well as information sent home with students. Visit our blog regularly, as well as our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TheCultureHouse). And feel free to contact us anytime with questions.

14 / Can I observe, take pictures, or video my child in class?

Generally, parents are encouraged to view their child through the observation windows into each classroom.  We want you to be able to see your child without disrupting the classroom progress. Video taping or taking pictures during class is not permitted unless special arrangements have been made. If you would like to sit inside a classroom to observe, please arrange a time with the Director of the School or come to our Parent Watch Weeks.
