Spotlight on Störling Dance Theater
Founded in 1996 by Mona Störling-Enna and Jeremiah Enna, Störling Dance Theater has made its mark as a visionary neoclassical modern dance company rooted in storytelling. The company, under Mona’s artistic direction, explores themes of faith, family, community, and personal worth—embodying “the beauty of dance and the power of story.”
As the professional dance company in residence at The Culture House, Störling has captivated audiences across Kansas City, nationally, and internationally. The organization also fosters the next generation of artists through the Störling Conservatory of Dance, a college-accredited program that empowers students to discover their creative voices.
Who Is Dolly Sfeir?
Dolly Sfeir, this year’s esteemed collaborator, brings an international perspective to the stage. Originally from Lebanon, she relocated to the U.S. at 19 and has since garnered awards such as the 2022 NYFA/NYSCA Artist Fellowship in Choreography, the 2019 Grand Prize at the Palm Desert Choreography Competition, and residencies/fellowships at Jacob’s Pillow and the CUNY Dance Initiative. Her work has been commissioned by leading companies in the U.S. and Europe, and her unique artistic voice makes her collaboration with Störling one of the most anticipated works of the season.
Why This Matters
By partnering with Dolly Sfeir at New Dance Partners 2025, Störling Dance Theater continues its legacy of boundary-pushing storytelling through movement. This exclusive commission not only amplifies the company’s presence in the regional dance ecosystem but also introduces fresh artistic voices and narratives into its repertoire.
