This is a class that works through the normal creative tools kids are used to and challenges them towards more advanced development. Working with crayons, water colors, paper, glue, students will be inspired to consider more developed concepts like detail, three dimensional work, consistency and more. You'll be amazed at your child's development in just a week!

Half Day: Cartooning
Ages: 12+
Monday – Friday: 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Cartooning is a class based on communication and story-telling. It is a dynamic approach to art that challenges the student to create more than just a pretty picture. Students will be introduced to four styles of cartooning: Classic, Comic, Manga, and Caricature. Each student choosing one of the first three styles will then compose a storyline for an individual character of their creation and create their own comic. Any student choosing Caricature art will be doing a series of three political cartoons based on past or current events. The best of each student's art will be displayed in The Culture House lobby.

Half Day: Drawing
Ages: 8+
Monday – Friday: 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cost: $105
Drawing Your Favorite Things! This class is a focus on form, texture, and reflection. Focusing on the medium of pencils, each student will learn how light interacts with 3 different surface types: Matte, Semi-Matte, Semi-Reflective. They will also learn contour and proportion. After learning each of these techniques, each student will work on a masterwork. This masterwork will incorporate simple and complex forms as well as two of the three textures learned and will be displayed in The Culture House Lobby.
Aug. 6-Aug. 10:
Half Day: End of Summer Celebration!
Ages: 12+
Monday – Friday: 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cost: $105
Let's end summer with a bang! Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in our final production of the summer with THEIR OWN TALENT! Students may put together their own solo dance, song, instrumental or other creative talent, or they may choose to prepare something with other participants. Whatever you choose, have your ideas ready by the first of the week and the TCH professional staff will be on hand to work with you to polish up your routine and make it performance ready. Additionally, we will teach everyone a group opening and closing number. This is the week to truly show off your God-given talents and celebrate the end of a wonderful summer! We will end the week with an on-stage FREE performance for all of your friends and family!
