Mixology 101 Turntablism
Do you know what goes on behind the ones and twos or the “wheels of steel”? What’s the DJ really doing? Learn what it takes to be a true turntable technologist. Turntablism IS an art form consisting of patterns, rhythms, timing, music appreciation, and communication. Students will learn the history and culture of Hip Hop and its influence on DJ-ing. Also learn practical skills like business and marketing.
Cuttin’ The Floor Tap Dance
Bringing the rhythmic noise with your feet. Whether you have rhythm or not, tap will help develop and strengthen your understanding of timing, rhythm, patterns, and musicality as well as strengthen your ankles, legs, back, stomach. Learn some of the steps and techniques used by great tappers like Savion Glover, Gregory Hines, Fred Astaire, and Gene Kelly.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? Improvisational Acting
Using many of the theater games and exercises popularized the TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” students will learn the art of quick wit, support and trust, agreement, scene development, and character building. This is a fun and fast-paced way to build confidence and a sense of teamwork on and off the stage.
American Idol Voice/Choir
Don’t let the title fool you! Everyone’s a winner in this vocal music class. Students will learn how the voice box works, proper breathing technique, how to find their unique sound, how to sing and work musically with others, and how to communicate ideas, emotions, and situations. For anyone who wants the ability to sing and or speak publicly with confidence, this class is a must. Sing, rap, and vocalize your way onto a CD. Learn the essentials of vocal music and what it takes to be a recording artist. Students will record their songs at Culture House Studios.
Sticks & Noise Drums & Percussion
Playing the drums and percussion takes an understanding of the balance between sound, silence, and timing. This relationship is learned through the practice of rhythmic patterns. Students will experience rudiments in basic patterns and rhythms, style, expression, and tonal quality.

So You Think You Can Dance
This dance series brings you a variety of dance disciplines. With each discipline students are faced with a new choreographer/teacher and a new set of challenges. With hip hop as the base, students will also experience jazz, modern, Latin, ballroom, and some surprises. Students will also learn timing, style, creative expression, and working with others. It’s a total workout, total learning, and total fun!
Swan Lake Ballet
Students will learn technique and fundamentals of ballet. This class will develop poise, proper posture, and body awareness. This class is also a great class for any athlete who wants to increase his/her strength, power, flexibility and agility in their sport. No wimps or sissies allowed. This is for the serious.
CoverGirl Beauty & Fashion
This girls-only class will teach techniques in make-up, hair, and fashion as students capitalize on their innate inner beauty and bring it to the surface, in full bloom. Students will learn about their unique design as a woman, created beautiful from the core of their heart to the clothes they wear.
